Waking Night Student Support Assistant

Full or Part Time - Term Time Only - 2 to 3 Nights per Week - Permanent

Set Shifts are 7.30pm-7.30am or 8pm-8am Monday to Thursday

or 9pm to 9am Friday to Sunday for the 16 weekends during the academic year the school is open

Kent Scheme 3: from £15,628 p.a. Full Time Equivalent (£8.10 per hour) plus unsocial hours allowance and generous local government pension.

Waking Night staff support residential students during the night by

  • attending to students personal care needs;
  • ensuring that communication with students, staff, and other departments is effective and contributes to securing efficiency and high standards of care for students;
  • appropriately using the recording and reporting processes;
  • maintaining high standards of safety and observing good practice in relation to health and safety issues and to be aware of, and implement, students’ care plans.

The role will involve a substantial amount of moving and handling and experience of complex physical and medical needs is desirable.

Nights available may change and Open weekends are during term time, in which the school is open to provide respite to families.  You will get an enhanced payment of £10.80 per hour for  the hours worked between 10pm to 7am.

The successful candidate will be supported to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare and will work within a supportive and friendly team in a country school setting.
