School Sport and Competition Pathway

Clubs

The school currently offers social and competitive After School Clubs in Powerchair Football, Rowing and Fitness, Cricket, Boccia and independent swimming.

From these clubs, players have opportunities to compete in Level 2 inter-school competitions in Boccia, Indoor Rowing and Panathlon.  The school have a Powerchair Football team, Valence Vikings and a number of players feature in the Sevenoaks Powerchair Football squad. 

Kent School Games

The Games are a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to take part in more competitive school sport.  The Kent School Games is a multi-sport competition open to all young people aged 4 – 18 in primary, secondary and special needs schools.

The Games are made up of four levels of activity: competition in schools, between schools, at county/area level and a national event for the most talented school age athletes.

Kent School Games has a Local Organising Committee (LOC) that is chaired by Roland Gooding (Head Teacher, Valence School) with a role to oversee the County festivals.

As a Project Ability lead school, Valence School supports the development and competition format of all disability sport as well as co-ordinating and supporting the entry process from all schools.  Valence School supports other schools across Kent with training and informaton about inclusive PE and Sport. 

In 2018, Valence School reached the Boccia County Finals in the U14 and U19 categories.  The U19 squad received a Bronze medal.
